CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa softball team dropped their doubleheader to Indiana State on windy Sunday afternoon. The Panthers (24-11, 4-4 MVC) rallied to pull within a run in game one before falling 11-7. In game two, UNI committed five errors, allowing just six earned runs in a 11-2 contest.
Wind proved to be a factor for both teams in the first inning as the Sycamores plated four runs to open the ballgame.
Caitlin Wnek and the Panthers began to chip away at the lead as the senior hit a RBI double to score Micalla Rettinger from second base.
