VERMILLION, S.D. - The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team came up on the short end of a 4-3 decision at the University of South Dakota Saturday at the Sanford Sports Complex.
For the first time in four duals, UNI was able to capture the doubles point with wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 doubles. The No. 1 doubles duo of Jieke Stroobant and Elvira Lopez topped USD's Elise van Zijst and Emma Kranendonk, 6-3. UNI's No. 3 doubles pairing of Eve Small and Astrid Santos scored a 6-4 triumph over USD's Maria Pandya and Hannah Wich.
