Box Score CARBONDALE, Ill. – The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team clinched at least a share of the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title tonight with its 73-64 win over Southern Illinois. UNI improved to 19-9 overall and 14-3 in league play.
UNI was paced by two 20-point scorers in Amber Sorenson and Madison Weekly. Sorenson knocked in a career-high 28 points with Weekly adding 21. Jen Keitel also turned in her second double-double in a row, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Panthers struggled to get an offensive rhythm going in the first quarter, allowing Southern Illinois to go on a 6-0 run while UNI went on a scoring drought to give the Salukis a 6-2 lead with 6:28 on the clock.
