CLEVELAND – Defensive lineman Karter Schult has been named the 2016 FCS Athletics Directors Association Defensive Player of the Year, it was announced today.
Schult is the first player in UNI history to be named ADA Defensive Player of the Year and is the second student-athlete in Missouri Valley Football Conference to earn the honor, joining North Dakota State's Kyle Emmanuel who won in 2014.
Schult and ADA Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp of Eastern Washington are also finalists for the STATS Defensive and Offensive Player of the Year Award, which will be announced on Friday, Jan.
