University of Northern Iowa pitcher Chelsea Ross has been named Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. The honor marks the second weekly award that Ross has received this year, being named MVC Player of the Week (3/7) after her performance at the Woo Pig Classic.
Ross (Kansas City, Mo.) made two appearances for UNI (38-18, 16-10 MVC) this week, helping the Panthers to a 2-1 series win over Illinois State and a three-seed in the upcoming MVC Tournament. The senior struck out 19 batters in 14 innings of work, including 10 in a 2-0 game one loss.
