DETROIT, Mich. — Hello again from Little Caesars Arena, where we just wrapped up day two of the 2022 NCAA Wrestling Championships.
Iowa, the 2021 NCAA team champs, will finish with 5 All-Americans and is in the thick of a heated team race for third. Jacob Warner made the finals at 197 pounds, and three others — Austin DeSanto (133), Alex Marinelli (165), Michael Kemerer (174) — are still in contention for third-place. The fifth, Tony Cassioppi (285), will wrestle for seventh.
Iowa State will finish with three All-Americans — David Carr (157), Marcus Coleman (184), Yonger Bastida (197) — a strong consolation after a rough opening day.
