Question marks abound, UNI looks to develop identity

CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — The questions are in abundance, but the optimism hasn’t faltered.

After graduating four starters, much is to be determined with Northern Iowa’s current product — a team coach Tanya Warren pegs as her youngest since her first season leading the Panthers in 2007-08.

There are just four upperclassmen and five freshmen — three redshirt, two true. Roles are still fluctuating. Minutes are largely undecided. The groundwork continues as UNI looks to chisel an identity following last year’s Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship.

“This is probably our most athletic team from top to bottom,” Warren said at Monday's media day, “and because of that, I’m excited to watch this team grow.
