CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — There were instant warnings that it could be a rough outing.
Back at home for the first time in nearly three weeks, Northern Iowa slogged through a poor shooting night that featured 16 straight misses and 11-plus minutes without a field goal in the first half. An early no-show from go-to man Jeremy Morgan hurt, and the Panthers’ first-half woes resurfaced down the final stretch.
All of which culminated in UNI’s 54-50 loss to George Mason Wednesday night at the McLeod Center — the Panthers’ third straight loss following a 3-0 start.
UNI (3-3) finished shooting 26 percent from the field (15-for-58), including just 8-for-32 from downtown.
