Box Score WATERLOO, Iowa- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team defeated the Missouri State Bears 1-0 Friday night, opening conference play on the right foot.
The Panthers, who have yet to lose at home this season, faced stiff competition and conditions in this match-up. Winds exceeded 15 MPH and affected the game in the early portions. Play flowed fast and was back and forth with the Panthers registering seven shots in the first half.
The Panthers found their breakthrough less than a minute into the second half. Sydney Hayden cut the ball back on to her right foot just outside the 18 yard box and fired a goal into the lower right corner.
