Conway, Ark. – The Panthers struggled in game one of the Adam Brown Memorial Shamrock Classic, falling 13-0 despite efforts from senior Adara Opiola who went 1-for-2 with a double.
Freshman Samantha Heyer (2-5) got the ball to start for UNI (4-8) and took the loss. At the plate, the Panthers were paced by Opiola, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a double.
UNI did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Panthers went 0-for-1 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the fourth, when Opiola made it into scoring position with nobody out.
