CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI men's basketball team suffered its first loss in conference play on Saturday night, falling to the Salukis of Southern Illinois 58-51 in the McLeod Center.
The Panthers and Salukis have historically played each other very close, often winning or losing by single digits.
The Panthers struggled shooting the ball in the first half, going nine for 28 from the field in the opening 20 minutes. The Panthers recorded eleven offensive rebounds in the first half and recorded eleven-second chance points. As a team, the Panthers shot just 21 percent from the beyond the arc in the first half but only trailed 26-24 at the break.
