CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa softball team earned a 3-2 victory over in-state rival Iowa State on Wednesday afternoon. The Panthers (25-11) got solid work out of freshman Bailey Lange in the circle as she allowed just one earned run and struck out a career-high eight batters in her first seven-inning complete game.
Lange got help from the Panther offense after tossing back-to-back innings where she retired the Cyclone batters in order.
Courtney Krodinger leadoff the second inning with a single up the middle before eventually scoring the first run of the day on a wild pitch.
