IOWA CITY, Iowa- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team opened the season Friday night, traveling to Iowa City for an exhibition match against the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The Panthers played three 30-minute periods against the Hawkeyes with the scores coming out 0-0, 0-1, and 0-2, with both wins going to the host. The matches were tightly contested with strong, physical defense being the constant.
The Panthers played three different starting line-ups with a heavy focus on getting the entire roster valuable minutes.
The Panthers are back in action Tues., Aug. 16, with an exhibition match against Minnesota State, Mankato at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex in Waterloo.
