CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Three Northern Iowa volleyball players have made the trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado, with the goal of qualifying for the U.S. Collegiate National Team and the USA women's National Team.
Kayla Haneline, Amie Held and Piper Thomas will be competing today for spots. All three are in the red group scheduled to try out from 3 to 4:50 p.m. CT.
Held is a junior who is libero/hitter for the Panthers. As one of the Panthers' most versatile players, she has exceled at both positons. For the Colorado Spring tryout, Held will be focusing on the libero and defensive specialist positon.
