Mark Farley doesn’t care who or where his Northern Iowa football team plays.
He just wants the Panthers to take on the NCAA’s big boys, at least once a season, and those opportunities are dwindling.
“I don’t care if it’s Florida or down in Texas, or wherever we have to go,” said Farley, who’s entering his 16th year as Northern Iowa’s coach, “because I feel we can compete in one of those games.”
Farley’s track record — including two wins over Iowa State in recent seasons and narrow defeats by Iowa and Wisconsin — seems to validate that claim.
