After three strong performances that led to two Northern Iowa wins, Panthers guard Madison Weekly has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league's announced Monday afternoon.
Weekly averaged 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists over three games. The 5-foot-7 senior propelled UNI to wins over Idaho (76-74) and Denver (79-68) in the Grand Canyon Thanksgiving Tournament, earning co-MVP honors. She was also the top performer in the Panthers’ 81-57 loss to Oklahoma State, pouring in a game-high 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting.
Against Idaho, Weekly delivered 15 points and a game-high six assists as UNI pulled out a late win on Megan Maahs’ last-second layup.
