Moser School of Dance and Gymnastics standout Carter Phillips placed sixth at the second of three USTA Elite National Team Trials contested recently in Belvidere, Illinois.
Phillips is attempting to qualify for the 2018 Elite USTA National Team. He is one of 38 males competing for a spot on the national squad.
Madison Larsen of Cedar Falls High has signed to compete for the Hawkeye Community College cross country and track and field teams next season.
Larsen, a distance standout, helped her Cedar Falls team to a ninth-place finish in last year’s state meet and a fifth-place showing at the state track and field meet.
