Kurt Warner not elected to Pro Football Hall of Fame for second straight year

Kurt Warner may be the native Iowan with the best chance of making the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But on Saturday, he didn’t make the cut.

For the second consecutive year, Warner was a finalist for the Hall of Fame, but was not selected.

Warner, who was born in Burlington and grew up in Cedar Rapids, was attempting to become the first native of Iowa to be elected.

The quarterback played in three Super Bowls and passed for more than 32,000 yards in his NFL career.

Warner attended high school at Cedar Rapids Regis and went on to play at Northern Iowa.
