AMES, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa track and field program wrapped up competition at the Iowa State Classic today, capturing a school record and personal-bests along the way.
Junior Kelsey Kirchoff got the Panthers started in the 5,000 meter run, setting a new school record in the process. Kirchoff finished in the top-30, running a personal-best time of 16:52.61, the fourth fastest time in the Missouri Valley this season. Trai Bunch also turned in a personal-best in the men's race, running a 40-second PR with a time of 14:43.01.
The Panthers had three career-bests in the men's 800 meter race with Jordan Pingel, Luke Johnston and Andrew Arndt all turning in strong performances.
