ST. LOUIS — UNI redshirt junior Katie Fare has been named the Missouri Valley Conference's (MVC) Female Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. The selection marks Fare's first outdoor award of the season, and third time she has been honored as the conference's top female field athlete during the 2022-23 season.
Fare recorded a career-best toss of 16.58 meters (54' 4 ¾ ") en route to winning the women's shot put at the Fighting Illini Challenge last weekend in Champaign, improving her mark to the second longest throw in UNI history.
