CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI track and field athlete Jessica Heims was one of 45 athletes named to the 2019 U.S. Paralympics Track and Field National Team.
Heims makes the national team for the second time, she previously participated in the 2016 Rio Paralympic games where she took seventh in the 400m with a time of 1:09.17 and eight in the discus 25.98 meters.
The 2019 season is pivotal for the development of athletes ahead of the 2020 Paralympic games in Tokyo.
Team USA athletes will have the chance to compete internationally at the Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru from Aug.
