ST. LOUIS — UNI junior Drake Hanson and redshirt junior Katie Fare have been named the Missouri Valley Conference's (MVC) Male Track and Female Field Athletes of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. The selection is Hanson's first weekly honor of his career, while Fare earns her second selection of the month.
Hanson, a native of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, earns conference recognition after setting a new personal best in the men's 800-meter run at the Iowa Open this past weekend with a time of 1:49.88, ranking just outside the top-five all-time in UNI history.
