University of Northern Iowa junior defender Kelsey Hansen has received the State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award as announced by the Missouri Valley Conference on Thursday. The award recognizes 10 student-athletes during the fall, winter, and spring. In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing and must demonstrate good citizenship through sportsmanship and community service.
Hansen, a defender from Cedar Falls, Iowa, played in all 19 games for the Panthers this season, starting 17. She was a key member of a UNI back line that matched the school single season shutout record with seven.
