The UNI men's basketball staff, under head coach Ben Jacobson, is renowned as one of the best in the country. An article published by Stadium recently ranked the Missouri Valley Conference assistant coaches, polling 20 of the leagues assistant coaches. League assistants ranked UNI Associate Head Coach Kyle Green as the league's top assistant coach and ranks Assistant Coach PJ Hogan third.

The Minneapolis native played at Hamline and graduated in 1992. He began his coaching career as a player/coach of the Frederica Basketball Club in Denmark, then became an assistant at Hamline from 1993-95.
