Fort Dodge senior Drew Bennett announced his commitment to join the Northern Iowa wrestling team.
Bennett is considered one of the state's top 2018 wrestlers as well as one of the nation's toughest lightweights. He chose UNI over Iowa, Iowa State, Northwestern and Oregon State. He joins former Dodger teammate Tristan Lara, a two-time state champ for Fort Dodge, who is a freshman on the Panthers' roster this upcoming year.
The lanky Bennett is a two-time state place-winner for the Dodgers, taking third each of the past two seasons at the Class 3A state wrestling tournament — at 106 pounds in 2016; and at 113 in 2017.
