Northern Iowa officials have set a news conference for Wednesday to announce the school’s new athletic director.
But former athletic director Troy Dannen has already tweeted out congratulations to his likely successor, David Harris.
"Congrats to David Harris on his selection as AD UNI," Dannen tweeted. "An inspired choice who will do a tremendous job."
The news conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the McLeod Center.
Harris, a senior associate athletic director at Iowa State, was among three finalists. Kevin Buisman, the athletic director for Minnesota State, withdrew his name from consideration Tuesday. Peter Fields, the departing athletic director at Montana State, was also known to have interviewed for the job.
