The Northern Iowa wrestling program scooped up another in-state commitment on Monday.
Garrett Funk, a senior at Don Bosco, announced his commitment to the Panthers. Funk is a two-time Class 1A state medalist who projects at 125/133 collegiately.
"I’m happy to announce that I’ve accepted an offer to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Northern Iowa!" Funk wrote in a tweet announcing his decision.
Funk is just the Panthers' second known commitment for its 2022 recruiting class. The other: Chet Buss, a senior heavyweight for North Butler-Clarksville. Buss is a two-time Class 1A state champ with a 127-2 overall record.
