CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — If you’re a Northern Iowa booster, David Harris wants to meet you.
Harris was introduced Wednesday as the school’s athletic director, and he didn’t shy away from the fiscal challenges of his new job.
“I want to connect with our donors,” he said. “We have to begin to build those relationships in the community.”
The 44-year-old Davis, who spent the past 10 years as a senior associate athletic director for Iowa State, takes over a Panthers sports department with total annual revenue close to $17 million.
Among the issues he’ll have to deal with:
- A series of potential facilities projects, including an upgrade of the UNI-Dome — which opened in 1976 — an on-campus soccer field and improving the setup for softball.
