AMES, Ia. — Joel Lanning didn’t flinch.
Minutes after Saturday’s loss to Northern Iowa, the Iowa State quarterback stood in front of his teammates and told them it was time to turn the page.
On Monday, he stood in front of the media and accepted responsibility for a series of miscues that contributed to the Panthers' 25-20 victory at Jack Trice Stadium.
“You’ve just got to stay the course,” Lanning said. “You can’t give up.
“You can’t let one loss define your season.”
The Cyclones can alter perceptions with a win this Saturday at Iowa, but they’ll have to significantly elevate their performance.
