CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI Defensive Tackle Jared Brinkman was named First-Team All-American by Athlon and Hero Sports and UNI placekicker Matthew Cook was named a sophomore All-American by Hero Sports.
Brinkman has been named an All-American by a total of five organizations. AFCA, STATS Perform and the Associated Press named him to their All-American first teams last week.
Brinkman, the MVFC Defensive Player of the Year and finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, led the MVFC with 9.0 tackles for loss and 1.29 TFLs per game. He finished the season with 38 total tackles.
