CARBONDALE, Ill. – The University of Northern Iowa track and field program kicked off the 2016 outdoor season at the Bill Cornell Spring Classic today, highlighted by Justin Baker claiming a school record to open his senior campaign.
Baker won the men's hammer throw competition, coming away with a throw of 209-1.25. It surpassed his previous PR and UNI record of 206-10.00 that he set last season, also ranking him first in the conference this season.
On the women's side, the Panthers had three athletes finish in the top-five in the hammer, with Sarah Pate leading the way in third.
