CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — Even as the basketball action whizzes by on another rugged Valley night, Ben Jacobson has found moments to pause and comprehend what he’s witnessing. The MVC dean of nearly 20 years knows these performances don’t happen in this league this often.
“There have been times recently where I’ve found myself enjoying and appreciating what’s going on,” said Jacobson, a Northern Iowa assistant or head coach since 2001. “We’ve been doing this a long time — I’ve been in and around the league for a long time — and this is a unique deal.”
