Jalen Rima, the grandson of Gary Rima — Northern Iowa’s longtime radio voice — is expected to sign a letter of intent Wednesday with the Panthers football team.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School is among the players who will join coach Mark Farley’s 2016 recruiting class.
“I honestly can’t wait,” Jalen Rima said. “Him announcing I scored a touchdown would be awesome to hear.”
The younger Rima earned a scholarship offer by establishing himself as a speedy pass catcher and kick returner, scoring 15 touchdowns last fall.
