The women’s tennis team continued their season at the Drake Invitational Friday through Sunday. The team totaled six singles victories and two doubles wins on the Drake University courts located in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Huskies were led by freshman Maria Potsi, who reached the championship round in singles at Flight B. She won her opening match (6-1, 6-1) over Kenya Williams of Drake and her second match over University of Nebraska - Omaha player in Kylie Boyer (7-5, 6-4). Potsi then won her third match (6-2, 6-4) over Luana Stanciu of South Dakota to advance to the championship match where she fell short to Elly Hartnett of North Dakota (4-6, 6-3, 7-5).
