The men’s tennis team had a solid year with 15 wins and eight losses. The season ended in disappointment when NIU was knocked out by the University at Buffalo Friday in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Championship.

1. Poor doubles play was NIU’s downfall

NIU won six of eight early season doubles matches. Starting out on top in the beginning of a match gave the Huskies plenty of confidence, allowing them to stay aggressive early on.

In the fall half of the season, the Huskies were 7-4 in doubles matches but suffered a 3-8 record in the spring half.
