Senior gymnast Ashley Potts and junior gymnast Anna Martucci were named this weeks “Gymnast of the Week” and a “Specialist of the Week” Tuesday. This is Potts’ third time claiming this award and Martucci’s fourth.
“We’ve become very accustomed and used to it here,” said NIU head coach Sam Morreale, according to NIU Media Services. “It’s just really nice to see them hit when it matters.”
Martucci recorded a 9.975 Sunday against Western Michigan, the highest individual score for NIU gymnast since Margaret Mroz scored a perfect 10 on the same event in 1995.
