NIU men lose first MAC game as four ejected early at Western Michigan

University Arena has been a house of horrors for the last decade for the Northern Illinois men's basketball team. It took just 5 minutes Saturday for the Huskies to be reminded why.

Four Huskies were ejected in an early-game melee as Northern Illinois went on to lose 83-69, its first loss in Mid-American Conference play this year and 10th straight loss at Kalamazoo.

With 15:41 left in the first half and the Huskies already trailing 9-2, NIU leading scorer Travon Baker fouled Tucker Haymond hard in the back. He was ejected with a double technical, as were fellow Huskies Marshawn Wilson, Jordan Thomas and Andrew Zelis for leaving the bench area.
