DeKALB – While the Northern Illinois football team will make history against Toledo on Wednesday, a win is more important.
The Huskies will play in the first football game in the stadium of the Chicago White Sox – now called Guaranteed Rate Field – and need another victory over the Rocketes to keep their hopes for a bowl game alive when the two teams face off at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Chicago.
As far as the logitics of playing football in a baseball stadium, Northern Illinois coach Rod Carey said there wasn't any fear that it would be a disaster like when Northwestern played Illinois at Wrigley Field in 2010 – a game that had the offenses only go in one direction because of size restraints.
