The men’s soccer team has been ranked No. 24 nationally by the Top Drawer Soccer website, the first time they’ve been ranked nationally since 2012. The NCAA website ranked NIU No.13 nationally under its Rating Percentage Index rankings.
“I woke up to a text from another coach in the Eastern Time Zone saying congratulations,” Head Coach Ryan Swan said. “That’s how I found out about it; I followed up by checking on it. I spoke to the guys about it after the Eastern [Illinois University] game, that it was a possibility we would receive a regional ranking and perhaps even receive votes for a national ranking.
