The NIU men’s basketball team announced this afternoon that junior guard Eugene German has been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of team rules.
The suspension was announced just prior to the team’s road matchup against the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
German appeared in DeKalb County Circuit Court Monday after being ticketed by the DeKalb Police Department for driving with a suspended license. Bond was posted at $1,500 and German will appear in court again on March 8 for a bond hearing.
This is German’s second suspension of the season after the guard was suspended for two games at the start of the year following a citation for retail theft in October.
