Northern Illinois University All-American Shawun Lurry was named to his second preseason watch list this year when he was placed on the 2016 Jim Thorpe Award Watch List, the Jim Thorpe Association announced today.
Last week Lurry was named to the Nagurski Award Watch List last week. Last season, the Huskie junior burst on the national scene at Ohio State when he picked off three Buckeye passes in the game. Lurry led the nation in interceptions last season with nine.
Lurry is one of 39 cornerbacks and one of five players from the Mid-American Conference named to the Thorpe Award Watch List.
