DENTON -- The East Texas turf war between North Texas and Louisiana Tech is nothing new to Nate Brooks.
One of the Mean Green's top defensive backs was in the middle of the tussle between the schools during his days at Whitehouse.
Brooks was recruited by both schools and nearly committed to the Bulldogs before national signing day in 2015.
"I was pretty close," Brooks said. "I had a couple of high school coaches who graduated from Louisiana Tech and my stepdad graduated from there. I went on a couple of visits, but I didn't like it.
