With the 2017 college football season coming to a close, here's SportsDayDFW's way-too-early college football rankings for the 2018 season. It is comprised of by votes from Dallas Morning News college writers and editors Ben Baby, Scott Bell, Chuck Carlton and Adam Grosbard.

1. Alabama (3) - 99
Alabama was the preseason favorite in 2016 and 2017. Don't expect 2018 to be any different. Jalen Hurts will return as a third-year starter at QB, and the Crimson Tide can reload at key positions with members of their top-ranked 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 recruiting classes.
