Oklahoma's Rose Bowl loss bests all Texas teams in D-FW bowl season TV ratings

It should come as little surprise that the No. 1 bowl among Dallas-Fort Worth television viewers this season was the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl that featured Big 12 champion Oklahoma.

Oklahoma’s 54-48 loss to Georgia scored a 16.4 rating in D-FW for ESPN. The other semifinal that featured Alabama’s 24-6 victory over Clemson in the Sugar Bowl scored a 12.8 locally for ESPN.

The third highest rated game of the Bowl season? It was the 6.7 earned by the Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium, won by Ohio State over USC, 24-7.
