Meet Jeffery Wilson, the dark-horse RB hoping to become Mean Green's first NFL draft pick in 14 years

DENTON -- North Texas coach Seth Littrell has almost as much riding on the 2018 NFL draft as his star running back Jeffery Wilson does.

Joe Greene proved a college layover in Denton is no impediment to an NFL career. Greene attended North Texas State in the late 1960s and became the fourth overall selection of the 1969 draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. His play as a defensive tackle helped the Steelers win four Super Bowls in the 1970s and earned him a bust in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Ron Shanklin, Cedric Hardman, Beasley Reece and Erric Pegram all followed Greene off the North Texas campus and went on to enjoy productive NFL careers.
