Fine hopes to be UNT's best; QB from tiny Oklahoma town not shy about lofty goals

NEW ORLEANS -- Mason Fine kept his long-term goals under wraps when he arrived at North Texas as an unheralded recruit from Locust Grove, Okla.

Back in the fall of 2016, Fine was widely considered to be a long-term project as an undersized gunslinger.

Two years later, UNT's 5-11 quarterback isn't afraid to talk about his lofty goals as the Mean Green prepare to take on Troy in today's New Orleans Bowl.

"One is to be one of the greatest of all time at North Texas," Fine said. "To do that you have to win games and prove yourself every Saturday.
