CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Ariel Young, a wing from Tallahassee, Fla., has joined the North Carolina women's basketball team, Tar Heel coach Courtney Banghart announced Tuesday. Young transferred to UNC from the University of Michigan, where she played for the Wolverines during the 2018-19 season.
Young will begin practicing with the Tar Heels on Wednesday, the first day of spring semester classes.
"We are thrilled to have Ariel join our program," Banghart said. "She brings length, athleticism, and a hard work mentality to our wing position. She can defend at a high level and she'll help us play fast.
