Women's Soccer Advances Past Georgia Into The Third Round

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Redshirt freshman Ally Sentnor scored two goals and second-seeded North Carolina defeated No. 7 seed Georgia 3-1 on Thursday night in the second round of the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship.

With the victory, the Tar Heels (17-4-1) advance to the third round to take on No. 6 seed BYU (11-2-6) on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 11:30 a.m. on Dorrance Field.

The Cougars advanced by upsetting No. 3 seed Stanford earlier in the day on penalty kicks, 5-4, after playing to a 1-1 double overtime draw.

Carolina defeated BYU, 2-0, in an exhibition match in August.
