Megan Streicher, Crista Izuzquiza and Kayla Smith each won both of their matches to lead the University of North Carolina women's golf team to wins over Virginia and Virginia Tech Monday in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the Wolfpack Match Play Invitational at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
The No. 6 seed Tar Heels defeated No. 3 Virginia, 3-2, in the morning, and No. 7 Virginia Tech, 5-0, in the afternoon to advance to the championship match for the second year in a row.
