CHAPEL HILL—Nine North Carolina players scored goals, including four with at least three goals apiece, as the second-ranked University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team beat Mercer, 20-7, on Friday evening at Dorrance Field.
Sam Geiersbach posted her second consecutive huge game for the Tar Heels. Days after being named ACC Offensive Player of the Week for posting five goals and an assist in the March 6 win over Northwestern, Geiersbach tallied two goals and six assists for a game-high eight points. Her six assists and eight points both were season highs.
Jamie Ortega had four goals, two assists and two caused turnovers for Carolina.
